The Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad needed new wheel bearings for passenger car restoration, but the original patterns were gone …
… so the patterns were re-created by Shead Custom Design from customer-provided drawings and 3D printed. Using sand casting, the printed patterns were duplicated in aluminum, so that a production run of bronze bearings could finally be created. All casting and metal work by the New Mexico Steam Locomotive & Railroad Historical Society. Approximately 6 ½″ L × 5″ W × 2 ½″ H.
